What Fans Should Know About Me: Ornery was raised in a small mountain town in the hills of Northern California, and ever since he heard his first rap/hip hop songs on the radio he was obsessed, he started by making his own mixtapes in his sisters Oldsmobile by recording clips (what he now knows as samples) and full rap songs off the tape deck, but wanted more.
Through the years Ornery has been self taught in learning the ways of daw production while working to pay bills and stay afloat since the age of 18, at the age of 22 he bought his first home and started a business 2 years later in order to get away from the 9-5 job at a pool store he had worked at for 5 years, this business provided more time to be at home and producing music which is all Ornery wanted to do. At this point he was dropping songs on Soundcloud that he recorded and mixed himself, these singles along with a couple collab songs and beats started to get him a following on Soundcloud. But he wanted more, so he started working on compiling beats and writing lyrics with the intention of making an EP that could be released to major streaming platforms.
Fast forward to November 2018 and after losing his Home, Studio & Business after the “Camp Fire” in November 2018, Ornery found himself staying at the home of a long time friend and fellow producer/artist and decided this was a better time than any to make the EP, so they went to work. What came of it was a 5 song EP by the name of “Full Circle”. Over the next year of relative homelessness he knew he could never go back to any type of 9-5 job, and decided to dedicate himself to music, he signed up to take the Recording Arts program at his local community college Butte College, and during that time started to rebuild his studio and is back now with more fire than ever, the “Full Circle EP” and his new single “Tourniquet” are just the start in a frenzy of heat that Ornery will be dropping in the next years. So sit back, relax and stay tuned to the heat that will be coming out of this no fucks given rapper from Northern California.
